The Association of Retired Senior Indian Police Service Officers (ARSIPSO) was formed in February 2000 with a select membership of about 25 retired Inspector Generals of Police. Today the membership of the Association is more than One hundred.
The rationale behind forming the Association is that, as members of the IPS, the officers acquire long and rich experience of law enforcement, intelligence and various other aspects which converge into maintaining the national integrity and safeguarding the national security. These officers, while in service, inculcated a deep esprit-de-corps and close professional links with each other over long periods of service.
The Association aims to continually harness the rich experience of the retired officers and provide them with a common platform for continuing the professional and social interactions among them as established over the years with a view to benefit the current and the future generations of police.
Towards this end, the Association organises guest lectures, seminars and panel discussions, interactions on subjects of professional, academic, social, scientific, and economic interest.
The Association also organises social functions to provide a platform for interaction of the members and their spouses.
